And just like that we have come to the end of another fantastic Rotary year. A year where our club created Hope in the World by funding projects around Chatham-Kent such as baby wellness packages to be distributed at the hospital, providing funding for the accessible rider program at TJ Stables, providing four $1,500 scholarships at three different post secondary education institutions, fulfilling the last year in our four year commitment to area high schools with $250 bursaries, funding programs at Chatham-Kent Public Library, sending young children to summer camp and providing the next significant installment in our pledge of $250,000 to the Children's Treatment Centre. We also provided 12 $1,000 donations in December for our clubs second annual 12 Gifts of the Holidays. Our club also has a strong commitment to our International projects in Guatemala with the next iteration of the RACHEL project and our donation towards the Wheelchair project.

We would not be able to fund all of our wonderful projects and provide the significant donations that we do without the hard work and dedication of all of the club members. I am very proud to lead such a wonderful group of Rotarians all of whom donate significant volunteer hours to make sure we as a club can continue to create hope in the world.  I said it at our social on June 26th at the Hills lovely home but I will say it again Thank You!!

June was a great month for the club we were very lucky to have DG Collyer Smith visit us on June 5th where he presented club members with Paul Harris awards and inducted Ray Harper officially as a member of our Club.

I also would like to extend a big thanks again to Karen Kirkwood-Whyte and Jennifer Hill for covering for me while I travelled on an Alaskan Cruise with my family.

We have a couple of fun events coming up in July. Don't forget July 16th we are heading to the Rotary Park on Tweedsmuir to enjoy a CK Barnstormers game. As well on July 24th we are heading to Andy Watson's for an evening social and tour of his Christmas Tree farm.

There will be no meetings in August. Click to see some pictures from these past few weeks.
